Penelope Yungblut

Penelope Yungblut was moved by the vision of Touchstone, Inc. when she met and married Touchstone’s founder, John Yungblut. Penelope embraces the leadership and ministry of Touchstone to quicken the aspirations and longings of those who pursue an inward journey to the Self, God within. She seeks to empower each of us to become the unique and authentic person we are meant to be.

 A graduate of the Guild for Spiritual Guidance and of the C. G. Jung Institute Zurich, Penelope is a spiritual guide and Jungian analyst with a private practice in Washington, DC and Round Hill, Virginia. In addition to offering one-on-one spiritual guidance and analysis, Penelope welcomes opportunities to give presentations and workshops to groups in the USA and aboard. She offers lectures, experiential seminars, and exams twice a year to students at the International School of Analytical Psychology Zurich, Switzerland, where she is a Training Analyst and member of the Faculty.​

Penelope is affiliated with International School of Analytical Psychology Zurich, Association of Graduate Analytical Psychologists, and International Association of Analytical Psychologists.

Penelope, who originally trained as a cultural anthropologist, lives with her husband, Ray Ewing, in the Virginia countryside where she enjoys the Blue Ridge Mountains, a home office, and her collection of ethnic art representing many countries.

Raymond C. Ewing

Ray Ewing was a Foreign Service officer for the U.S. Department of State for 36 years, serving among other positions as Ambassador to Cyprus (1981-1984) and to Ghana (1989-1992). He was also deputy assistant secretary for European Affairs, dean of the Foreign Service Institute's School of Language Studies, and director of the Office of Foreign Service Career Development and Assignments. In retirement, Ray has been managing editor of the journal Mediterranean Quarterly (1994-2012), president of the Cyprus American Archaeological Research Institute (2010-2015), and president of Diplomatic and Consular Officers Retired, an organization of foreign affairs professionals (2015-2017). Ray became a member of the Touchstone Board after his marriage to Penelope in 2010. Ray enjoys weekly golf and tennis, visits with grandchildren, and travels with Penelope.

Gobi Stromberg

Gobi Stromberg grew up in Mexico where she has conducted extensive anthropological research in the areas of art, identity, and traditional medicine. She has worked with numerous academic institutions and museums in Mexico and the United States. An anthropologist and psychoanalyst, Dr. Stromberg developed a practice in individual and group psychotherapy in New York,1985-1994. In 1995 she founded Tonaltzintli A.C., a non-profit organization, under the auspices of the University of Morelos, Mexico, as a forum for academic and cultural programs that incorporates traditional medicine and spirituality. In 1998 she was awarded the "Martín de la Cruz" Award. She has written for scholarly journals, newspapers, magazines, and published several books. Gobi and Penelope have been friends since graduate student days at the University of California, Berkeley.
